Virtual Mind XR Português · Español

Privacy policy

Updated on October 13, 2026 · applies to the Virtual Mind XR app (Meta Quest) and to the web app at virtualmindxr.com/app. The Portuguese version is the reference text.

In short

1. Who is responsible

Virtual Mind XR is responsible for the processing described here. For any request or question about your data, write to privacy@virtualmindxr.com.

2. What stays on your device

On Quest these files live in the app's own storage; in the web app, in the browser's storage. None of it is sent to us. A file leaves the device when you export or share a project yourself (.vmind, PDF or Markdown) and, on Quest, through the headset's backup, described below.

3. What leaves the device, and where it goes

FeatureWhat is sentTo whom
Voice dictation (microphone button) The audio of that dictation, while the app's microphone is on, and the app's language. Audio recordings attached to notes are not sent. Our server (Cloudflare), which forwards it to Wit.ai, Meta's transcription service. We do not keep the audio or the text.
Usage limits Your IP address and a random identifier of the installation (not the serial number, not your account). Our server, only to count how many dictations were made in the day and prevent abuse. The counts are erased every day.
Web app When the page opens, your browser requests the app files and the fonts. Dictation uses the browser's own speech recognition. Microphone and camera are only requested when you record audio or take a photo, and the result stays in the browser. Cloudflare (hosting), Google Fonts (fonts) and, for dictation, your browser's vendor (for example Google or Microsoft).
Links in notes Tapping a link opens the address in the device's browser. The linked site, as in any browsing.
Quest backup (Meta's cloud backup) The app's files: projects, notes, photos, audio recordings and preferences, up to 100 MB. Meta, which keeps the copy in your Meta account and brings it back when the app is installed again. It is a feature of the headset's system, on by default: you can turn it off in the Quest settings. We neither receive nor access that copy.
